~ This Knowledge~

Time is precious~and the years teach much which the days never knew~

If I were allowed to go back in time

I would take more pictures and videos of our lives so I could relive the moments

I would be more careful with my words, especially to my children

I would be a more attentive mother, sister, daughter, friend, wife, and Lover

I would not hurry, but instead embrace Life with Passion for living and loving~

I would absorb lifes richness and color by day~

and not be afraid of the dark~

but instead~ be thrilled by the sensations that make me feel more alive

For I have learned that all education costs~ and wisdom is truly more precious than gold

~And with this great knowledge~

I can do much better now...and also in my future...

I can look back thru my history and see my path and draw strength from it

so that when I turn and look forward~ I can smile~

For I am empowered to alter the direction of my future~

Giving my Heart Hope!~ And Hope Rises!~

                                                          by: Juli Ulm  2005

I have learned there is undiscovered gold in alot of peoples barns.

Horses don't always have to be a champion show horse to prove themselves.

You just do the best that you can with the horse at all times

and the goals that you achieve with them will not go unnoticed by others.

Whether you its your families favorite horse/pony, or you do trail, 4-h,

cattle, mounted shooting, parades, game, pleasure ride,

or the old mare that faithfully gave you 10 lovely foals to raise and love,

or in the show ring under a judge handing out points and ribbons.

A Great Horse is a Great Horse~ whatever he may be great at,

it will stand out in his owners memory for all time!

~and he will forever cherish those moments, and his glories will not go unnoticed by others~

and THAT is what makes him great!

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse,"
or, "that's a lot of money for "just a horse".

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse,"

but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse,'

and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse"

gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like

"just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a horse"

but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,

the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a horse" brings out what's good in me

and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse"

but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse"

just smile, because they "just" don't understand.

The beauty is the horse.... and to own him is the Gift!

~Many Happy Trails to you my Friends!~
